The translucent yellow stones known as Libyan glass are created by meteorite impact. They are grouped with the other mysterious glassy objects called Tektites, including Moldavite, by scientists. The meteorite is estimated to have fallen 28 million years ago in the Great Sand Sea on the border of Egypt and Libya. King Tut had a carved Libyan glass scarab beetle in jewelry. Metaphysically, Libyan glass is said to help manifest abundance and prosperity.
